We LOVE Summer in McLean VA!
The Holiday weekend is over, which means SUMMER is about to begin! Kids are counting down the days until school is out, and calendars are quickly filling up with BBQ’s, camping trips and more. Your McLean Dentist wanted to share with you some of our favorite summer activities in our area!
Hiking and Biking
Is there any better way to get some exercise in the Summer than doing it OUTSIDE?? We have many local trails for either hiking or biking that can help you get or stay in shape while enjoying our amazing scenery. Keep the kids busy and happy by planning some fun day trips to go exploring! Here are a couple of our favorites, both within 30 minutes of downtown McLean:
Great Falls National Park in McLean VA
Just outside of town is this wonderful 800 acre National Park, offering hiking and walking trails and more beautiful scenery than you could ever take in in a day!
Little Falls Stream Valley Park in Bethesda, MD
30 minutes outside of our lovely McLean, we have a treasure just over the boarder! This 160 acre park is full of hiking and biking trails, a baseball field, picnic area, playground and more! Perfect place to plan a family reunion or just a day trip with a group of friends. Start the day exploring, end with a BBQ and baseball game. Pretty much a perfect Summer day!
Water Slides!!!
Does anything scream Summer more than a wild trip down a water slide? We are fortunate to have 2 amazing water parks right near McLean VA!
Great Waves Water Park in Alexandria VA
Create a mini vacation minutes from your home with their amazing array or slides, games and fun. Enjoy a top notch lunch and finish the day with some delicious ice cream! Fun for your whole family! See their site for information for renting facilities to host a party right in the park! All you love about vacation, but you get to sleep in your own bed at night!
Ocean Dunes Water Park in Arlington VA
With an amazing collection of water features PLUS mini golf, a batting cage and a great selection of food and beverages at the Beach Break, this park has something for everyone. Plan a day trip or a party and sit back and enjoy the fun!
McLean also boasts a nice collection of parks and lakes that can be enjoyed for free! Be sure and take the time to get outside this Summer and enjoy our beautiful area!
