Porcelain Fixed Bridges
Traditional fixed bridges are among the three types of bridges. The other two are called "resin or Maryland bonded bridges" and "cantilever bridges".
Traditional bridges are porcelain fused to metal or ceramic material that create a crown for the implant on the side of the missing tooth. Cantilever bridges on the other hand are used when there are teeth on only one side of the open space. Maryland or resin bonded bridges are made up of plastic teeth and gums which are supported by "metal wings" on both sides of the bridge and are bonded to the existing teeth. This type of bridge is typically less expensive.
